Do I need an adapter?
The good news first – DrinkPure goes on pretty much all fittings. By default, you get the adapter with M22 internal thread and M24 external thread, which fits almost all fittings. Depending on that, you will need an additional adapter. If you are still unsure after reading the article, do so just contact our customer service conveniently by mail, phone or WhatsApp!
Classic fittings vs. kitchen showers
We differentiate between two types of fittings that are installed in our kitchens. For one, there is the classic faucet, which is permanently installed in your kitchen. kitchen showers have an extendable hose. We count these separately.
In principle, however, the following applies to both types of faucet: If a removable aerator is installed, DrinkPure can be installed.
What next with a kitchen spray?
Unfortunately, you can only mount DrinkPure on kitchen sprayers that have a screwed-in aerator. However, since many are often only inserted, we offer you the option of purchasing shower heads directly with a quick-release coupling that is already installed. In Switzerland there are two variants - KWC-compatible ½'' and standard ½'' kitchen showers. It is best to unscrew your kitchen spray from the hose and compare the length of the back part. If it is short like in the picture, then you have a standard ½'' shower. If it's long, it's a KWC-compatible ½'' shower.
Here you can get the shower in the starter set.

Unfortunately, we are not compatible with the KWC AVA line, as it uses an M18x2 thread on the shower.
And how about fittings?
First unscrew the aerator. It may be that it is stuck due to the lime. If this is the case, you can dissolve the lime with a little limescale remover, vinegar or other household acids. After that it will definitely be better.
Next, you'll need a ruler or calipers to measure your aerator. We distinguish between three types of threads:
external thread | |
inner thread | |
Thread directly on the aerator |
Now measure the thread with your ruler or caliper and write down the number.
Possible sizes for the external thread
If you have an external thread, then compare your number with the following list. Which number are you closest to?
Measurement | thread size | thread pattern |
---|---|---|
~17 mm | M18x1 | |
~19 mm | M20x1 | |
~23 mm | M24x1 | |
~27 mm | M28x1 |
The M24 adapter is the most common external thread adapter and is included as standard in the DrinkPure starter set. Please check whether your aerator is installed normally (picture above) or recessed (picture below). With the latter, you still need our M24 extension.
Possible sizes for the internal thread
If you have an internal thread, compare your reading to the list below. Which number are you closest to?
Measurement | thread size | thread pattern |
---|---|---|
~17 mm | M16x1 | |
~20 mm | 3/8’’ | |
~21 mm | M19x1 | |
~23 mm | M22x1 |
The M22 adapter is the most common internal thread adapter and is included as standard in the DrinkPure starter set. whether your aerator is normal (picture above) or recessed (picture below). With the latter, you still need our M22 extension.
Possible sizes if thread directly on the aerator (Caché)
If the external thread is directly made of plastic and is installed on the aerator, then you probably have a Caché aerator. Which number are you closest to?
Measurement | thread size | thread pattern |
---|---|---|
~15 mm | M16,5x1 | |
~17 mm | M18,5x1'' | |
~18 mm | M21,5x1 | |
~21 mm | M24x1 |
