What is the DrinkPure water filter made of?
The filter is made of a plastic membrane, an activated carbon layer and a self-disinfecting layer. Together they form the heart of the filter, which is then fixed between two plastic parts.
What does the DrinkPure water filter do to the water?
Water is filtered through a layer of activated carbon to reduce odors. Then the water passes through the filtration membrane, which serves as a sieve to retain bacteria (by more than 99.9999 %*), protozoa and cysts. Viruses can also be filtered (by over 99 %*). Hence, DrinkPure filters your water without using chemicals.
What is the function of the self-disinfecting layer?
The self-disinfecting layer prevents well-known filter fouling during the storage period.
How long can I use the DrinkPure water filter?
The lifetime of a filter (up to 1000 L) depends on the available water quality and your personal filter handling. Please read our safety instructions for more important information.
Does chlorine gets removed by DrinkPure?
Yes! The activated carbon layer effectively removes chlorine from your water.
How can I clean the filter?
By flushing water in the opposite direction, dirt can be removed from the membrane pores. Backwash your filter when you feel that the water flow rate decreases. To do so, use the included syringe.
